Remove default Windows 7 Games from the start menu

When you install Windows into your PC, few games are added in start menu that are built-in by default in Windows operating system. You can go to “All Programs” and then explore Games folder to choose any game that you want to play. It seems these games are too boring now and you always see the same games in all coming Windows version. If you like don’t like these games and want to throw out from start menu, this tutorial will show you how to hide these games without removing them completely from your Windows 7.

  • Go to start menu, type the bellow line in search box and hit “Enter”. %AllUsersProfile%\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\
  • Start menu content will be loaded and this is the location where Windows 7 stores shortcut programs for all users. During program installation, Windows 7 asks you whether you want to place short for single user or for all users. Shortcuts to windows games are visible for everyone.
  • Once you hit the “Enter”, Windows Explorer will be opens up.
  • Double click on “Programs” folder and list of all apps under “All Programs” will be listed.

Go to “Games” folder, right click on it and select “Cut” from context menu and then place this folder on desktop or any folder inside the desktop.  The Games folder will no longer be available in Windows 7 start menu. Done!
